Das Alte Forsthaus

The Old Forest House is in the quiet cul-de-sac, called “Setzplatz” where in olden days the forestry workers used to store the timber before shipping it further. We are 400 meters from the main street but in less than 10 minutes by foot along the stream, the Laindlbach, you reach the centre of this peaceful village. Here you will find the little village shop, the church, the banks and of course the restaurants/pubs. We have a bicycle for you so that you can cycle to buy your breakfast in the “Dorfladen”.

You can start your walk to the surrounding hilltops from the front door. Bring a bit of condition with you to enjoy the views from the tops of the surrounding Mountains: Staffel , Rabenkopf , Benediktenwand or Jochberg.
In winter the cross-country ski track is 100 meters away. The more than 20 km track has circuits for all levels.

In our carport you can park your car & forget it for a few days. There is a bus, free for our guests, to the next bigger village, Lenggries. From the Munich airport it is easy to get here by train (Deutsche Bahn - www.bahn.de) to Lenggries where there is the bus (RVO-Bus - www.rvo-bus.de) connection or we will pick you up personally

The Old Forest House has a long history. Built originally in the late 1800’s, it was later extended by the Bavarian State as living accommodation for the forestry workers. In 1995 we purchased the house & fully renovated it, creating an apartment over 2 levels, maintaining the characteristics but renewing almost everything else. The result is a spacious apartment where all our guests feel totally at home & can relax by good or bad weather.
